The Blue Palace (Plavi dvorac) in Cetinje, built between 1894 and 1895 in the late Empire style, served as the residence of Crown Prince Danilo, the heir to the throne of Montenegro. Its architecture draws on European models and set a standard for other buildings belonging to the Petrović-Njegoš dynasty throughout Montenegro. Over the years, the palace gained political significance and is now the official residence of the President of Montenegro. Culturally, the palace reflects the history and heritage of the Montenegrin monarchy, serving as a venue for important events and a national symbol. Interestingly, despite its historical role, the palace has retained many original features, making it a significant museum site and tourist attraction in the region.
