The municipality of Łazy, located in the Silesian Voivodeship within Zawiercie County, is an urban-rural municipality with its seat in the town of Łazy. It also includes 14 village councils (sołectw), covering an area of 132.56 km², of which 47% is agricultural land and 44% is forested. According to demographic data from 2004, the municipality was inhabited by 16,077 people, resulting in a population density of 122 people per km². The municipality boasts a diverse range of economic entities, including manufacturing plants such as Stalobrex Sp. z o.o. and Tradepol Sp. z o.o., reflecting a well-developed local industry. The educational structure of the municipality includes 2 kindergartens, 8 primary schools, and 1 secondary school, ensuring residents have access to education at various levels.
