Śliwice is a rural commune in the Kuyavian-Pomeranian Voivodeship, located in the Tuchola County, with an area of 174.75 km², of which 25% is agricultural land and 65% is forested. The commune comprises 17 villages, including Brzeźno, Laski, and Lipowa, with its administrative seat in Śliwice. The population of the commune was 5,463 in 2007 and increased to 5,592 by 2014. The commune is home to two significant historical monuments: the 19th-century parish church complex of St. Catherine and a Roman Catholic cemetery from the mid-19th century, both of which are examples of local architecture and history. Śliwice is situated along national roads no. 22 and 237, providing easy access to other towns. It is surrounded by the communes of Cekcyn, Czersk, Osie, Osieczna, Osiek, and Tuchola, making it part of a larger region known for its rich cultural and natural heritage.
