Świeszyno is a rural municipality in the West Pomeranian Voivodeship, with its administrative seat located in a village of the same name. The municipality, inhabited by 6,028 people according to 2009 data, is home to the Koszalin-Zegrze Pomorskie airfield and a kayaking route on the Radew River. It lies on the Białogard Plain, with its highest point being Czapla Góra (114.4 meters above sea level), and encompasses forested areas that cover 34% of its territory. Interestingly, the municipality captivates tourists with its lakes: Hajka, Czarne, and Niedalino, as well as its picturesque landscape. The area includes protected landscapes rich in unique flora and fauna. The municipality boasts numerous historical monuments, including traces of medieval settlements. Among the more valuable sites are a 15th-century Gothic church in Konikowo, a watermill and power plant in Niedalino, and two palaces in Strzekęcino. Świeszyno is also known for its English-style parks located in Mierzyn and Sieranie. Historically, Świeszyno was part of the Koszalin Voivodeship until 1998, and railway lines have been operating in the municipality since the 19th century. It has well-developed transportation infrastructure, with two railway stations and a network of regional roads. By the end of 2016, the municipality recorded a budget revenue of 27.6 million PLN, managing ten village administrative districts, including significant villages such as Dunowo, Strzekęcino, and Niedalino.
