wikipedia
The Palace in Żelechów is a classicist building from the late 18th century, constructed with funds provided by Jerzy Lubomirski. Its architecture is characterized by a high interior that connects the vestibule, staircase, and spacious living and ballrooms. The upper floor houses additional rooms, while the right wing contains servants' quarters and a kitchen. During World War II, the palace suffered significant damage; only some of the tiled stoves and ornaments have survived to this day. The building is surrounded by a 7.8-hectare park featuring ponds, natural monuments, and a deteriorated alley lined with hornbeams. The history of the palace is rich and marked by numerous changes in ownership. After Ludwik Lubomirski, the estate passed into the hands of Fabian Sebastian Roman, who did not complete the construction. It was Ignacy Wyssogota Zakrzewski who finally finished the project in 1794. The palace was later owned by the Dangl family and then by Jan Ordęga, who remodeled it in 1838 and designed an English-style park. An interesting fact is that the wedding of Romuald Traugutt took place in the palace. After World War II, the palace was destroyed by Soviet troops and subsequently nationalized. During the Polish People's Republic, it served as a school and dormitory until 2006, when it was renovated and reopened as a hotel and conference-recreation center. In 1960, the palace was entered into the register of historical monuments, underscoring its cultural and historical significance.
