The municipality of Żukowo, located in the Pomeranian Voivodeship, in the Kartuzy County, is an urban-rural municipality that lies entirely within the Tricity metropolitan area. With its seat in the town of Żukowo, the municipality also includes 22 villages, such as Banino, Chwaszczyno, and Leźno. A notable feature of the municipality is the introduction, in 2013, of the Kashubian language as an auxiliary language, highlighting its regional cultural heritage. The municipality is characterized by a diverse land structure, where agricultural land covers 69% and forests 21% of its area, giving Żukowo significant potential for agritourism and nature conservation. Within the municipality lies the Jar Rzeki Raduni nature reserve, which protects local ecosystems. Key national and regional roads, as well as railway lines, run through the municipality, making it a well-connected location, ideal for living and working. From a demographic perspective, the municipality is dynamically growing—from less than 20,000 inhabitants in the early 1990s to over 42,000 by the end of 2021. This reflects the increasing interest in the region and the opportunities it offers to residents and investors. Żukowo borders municipalities such as Gdańsk, Gdynia, and Kartuzy, enhancing its importance as one of the key suburban areas of the Tricity. An interesting fact is that the municipality has rich cultural traditions, which can be explored during local festivals and events, as well as in its architecture, which preserves a regional character.
