Żórawina is a rural municipality located in the Lower Silesian Voivodeship, within the Wrocław County, situated 15 kilometers south of Wrocław. The administrative seat of the municipality is the town of Żórawina. Between 1975 and 1998, the municipality was part of the Wrocław Voivodeship. The municipality is characterized by a large area of 120.11 km², predominantly covered by agricultural land, which constitutes 89% of its territory. According to data from 2020, Żórawina was inhabited by 11,284 people, with a majority of women. The municipality benefits from convenient transport connections, which support the development of logistics functions. Its territory is crossed by significant infrastructure, including the A4 motorway and the Wrocław–Prague railway line, making it an important point on transit routes to Southern Europe. In terms of architecture, the municipality features charming rural buildings, with characteristic houses and manor complexes that exemplify local architectural styles. The culture of the municipality is reflected in the organization of local events, festivals, and traditions that bring residents together and emphasize their local identity. Historically, Żórawina has played a role in various eras, as evidenced by preserved monuments and local legends.
