Chatka na Rogaczu, formerly known as the student tourist shelter "Rogacz," is a private mountain hostel located in the Beskid Mały range at an altitude of approximately 685 meters above sea level, at the foot of Mount Rogacz. This seasonal facility offers 35 sleeping places in multi-bed rooms, a common room with a fireplace, a kitchen, an outdoor fireplace area, a grill, a bonfire spot, and a volleyball court. Guests also have access to free Wi-Fi and a buffet with a grocery store.
The building dates back to the 1960s, when it was established through the efforts of the Academic Tourist Club "Gronie" from Katowice. It was officially opened on November 3, 1968, with the participation of the rector of the University of Silesia, Professor Kazimierz Popiołek. In 1971, the shelter was taken over by the Polish Students' Association. Throughout the 1970s and 1980s, it underwent expansion and hosted Festivals of Tourist and Student Songs.
Chatka na Rogaczu is well-connected, situated along the red trail from Mikuszowice to Magurka Wilkowicka and the yellow "chatka" trail from the Wilkowice-Bystra station, making it an ideal base for tourists exploring the Silesian Beskids. Equipped with central heating and hot water, the shelter has a rich history that traces back to the forest lodge of Baron Adolf von Klobus's estate. The panoramic views of the Silesian Beskids, featuring the distinctive outline of Skrzyczne, add to the location's unique charm, attracting mountain hikers and summer vacationers alike.
