Chatka pod Potrójną is a student hostel located in the Beskid Mały mountain range, between the Zakocierska Pass and the summit of Potrójna, within the boundaries of the village of Kocierz Rychwałdzki in the Silesian Voivodeship. The facility, whose history dates back to 1911, is housed in a traditional highlander-style wooden house, giving it a distinctive local charm. In 1974, the shelter was purchased by the University of Economics in Katowice, and it is currently privately owned.
The hostel is open year-round and offers affordable accommodation with 30 beds, plus an additional 15 beds in a nearby building. The ground floor features a kitchen, a dining area with a fireplace, and a basic bathroom, while the guest rooms are located upstairs. Outside, there is a covered shelter that allows guests to relax in the fresh air. A notable attraction is the original Zbójeckie Okno rock formation, situated slightly above the shelter along the yellow trail leading to Zakocierska Pass.
Chatka pod Potrójną is accessible via numerous hiking trails, including the Mały Szlak Beskidzki (Little Beskid Trail) and routes from Targanice and Ślemień, making it an excellent starting point for mountain hiking enthusiasts. Its interesting location and historical context attract both tourists and students, while the highlander architecture adds to its charm. The shelter functions not only as accommodation but also helps preserve local traditions and encourages outdoor activities in the beautiful natural surroundings of the Beskid Mały range.
