wikipedia
Ławica is a village in Poland, located in the Lower Silesian Voivodeship, within Kłodzko County, known for its rich history and interesting architectural heritage. Its name first appeared in documents in 1337, indicating the Slavic origins of the settlement. In the Middle Ages, Ławica was a small village belonging to the parish of St. Wenceslaus in Kłodzko. In 1419, the village was in the possession of noble families, underscoring its historical significance. In the 18th century, following administrative changes, Ławica came under the rule of the Kingdom of Prussia, which influenced its further development. In the 19th century, the village had only an agricultural character, but the population grew due to infrastructure development, including the construction of a railway line in 1875. During the interwar period, the village attracted tourists thanks to its location near the scenic Bardzkie Gorge. After World War II, Ławica became part of Poland, and its social structure underwent significant changes. Today, the village retains its agricultural character, and its interesting natural conditions support the development of agritourism, with one active agritourism farm. From an architectural perspective, Ławica features a 17th-century palace, the Chapel of St. Anne from 1818, and a run-of-river hydroelectric power plant built between 1921 and 1923, which testify to the village's historical and technical past. An interesting fact is that Ławica is the lowest-lying village in the Kłodzko Valley. The village is also a venue for various cultural events, such as county harvest festivals, which attract the local community. Ławica is a place where history blends with tradition and nature, offering unique experiences to both residents and visitors.
