Aleksandrowska Street in Łódź, with a length of approximately 5.2 km, runs through the southwestern part of Bałuty and forms part of national road No. 72, leading towards Konin. The history of the street dates back to 1858–1860, when it was laid out as a route connecting Aleksandrów with Łódź. Initially, it was a dirt road, which was only paved in 1886–1887. In 1902, the "Kochanówka" psychiatric hospital was established at Aleksandrowska Street, which held great significance in the Kingdom of Poland. The architectural value of the street includes structures such as the villa of Janusz and Paulina Goltz and the complex of the former psychiatric hospital, which is listed in the municipal register of historical monuments. Culturally, the street has found its place in music, appearing in the song "Łódź" by the band NOT. The street is also an important transport artery, with numerous tram and bus stops, highlighting its role in urban life. Over the years, various events have taken place on the street, including stages of cycling races. Another historical aspect is the changes in its name, influenced by political events. The street continues to evolve, with plans for infrastructure expansion and modernization, underscoring its dynamic role in the urban development of Łódź.
