The Alfons Karny Sculpture Museum, located in the historic wooden villa of General von Driesen in Białystok, is a biographical tribute to the outstanding sculptor Alfons Karny, who was born in the city but was primarily professionally associated with Warsaw. The museum collects his works and documents the artist's creative activities. Its interiors feature permanent exhibitions such as Portraits of Great Poles, The Sculptor's Studio, The History of Creative Life, and Ancient and Contemporary Art, which showcase the diversity and richness of the artist's oeuvre. Karny, considered one of the most prominent representatives of the Warsaw school of sculpture, created realistic portrayals of famous figures such as Nicolaus Copernicus, Ignacy Paderewski, Albert Einstein, and Ernest Hemingway, making his works a valuable part of Polish culture. The museum actively engages in educational activities, particularly aimed at people with visual and hearing impairments and intellectual disabilities, highlighting its social role. The architecture of the villa, in the manor house style, adds a unique atmosphere to the place, harmonizing with its mission of promoting art and culture. An interesting fact is that the museum not only exhibits the works of Alfons Karny but also organizes contemporary art exhibitions, creating a space for dialogue between tradition and modernity.
