The Andreas Gryphius Theater in Głogów is a classicist building from 1799, designed by Christian Valentin Schultze. Initially, it served as a multi-purpose theater that operated practically until the end of World War II, when the building was destroyed during the Soviet offensive. In the following years, many reconstruction plans failed to materialize; however, after years of waiting, the building was rebuilt between 2017 and 2019 to serve as the seat of the Municipal Cultural Center, where concerts and performances are organized. Architecturally, the theater has a rectangular shape (50 x 12.5 m) with a facade maintained in the classicist style. The eastern facade stands out with its multicolored plinth and a risalit featuring a niche with a bust of Andreas Gryphius. The interior of the building also underwent significant changes, including the removal of ceilings, which improved the spaciousness of the theater hall. The theater has been the site of important cultural events, such as performances by Ferenc Liszt. After its reconstruction, the theater became not only the seat of a cultural institution but also a venue for historical reenactments, highlighting Głogów's significance in the history of the region. An interesting fact is that the original bust of Gryphius went missing in 1959, and its replica was placed on the theater building only in 2019. The grand opening of the theater took place on November 22, 2019, with the premiere of the play "Piast." The theater operates with an annual budget, which was reported to be around 900,000 złoty for maintenance, supplemented by funding of 600,000 złoty.
