Banie Mazurskie is a rural municipality in the Warmian-Masurian Voivodeship, located in the Gołdap County. The history of the municipality dates back to before the administrative reform of 1975, when it was part of the Suwałki Voivodeship, and later the Giżycko County until 2001. The municipality covers an area of 205.02 km², a significant portion of which is agricultural land (58%) and forests (30%). The seat of the municipality is Banie Mazurskie, and according to data from the end of 2019, it is inhabited by approximately 3,671 people, indicating a decrease in population compared to 2004, when there were 4,033 residents. The municipality is characterized by a rich demographic structure and includes numerous village districts, such as Dąbrówka Polska, Jagiele, and Surminy, as well as smaller localities, including Antomieszki and Radkiejmy.
