Baranowo is a rural commune located in the Masovian Voivodeship, within Ostrołęka County. From 1975 to 1998, the commune was part of the Ostrołęka Voivodeship. The seat of the local government is the village of Baranowo. The commune covers an area of 198.19 km², of which agricultural land constitutes 63%, and forested areas account for 29%. According to data from 2019, the commune had a population of 6,496 and occupies 9.44% of the area of Ostrołęka County.
