A regional delicacy is honey from the Barlinek Wilderness. The municipality has a well-developed transportation network, connecting it to neighboring towns and Gorzów Wielkopolski. Barlinek's history dates back to 1278, and one of its landmarks is the Church of the Immaculate Heart of the Blessed Virgin Mary. Additionally, the village of Dziedzice, considered the oldest, has roots linked to Kashubian history. In 2016, the municipality recorded budget expenditures of 73.1 million PLN with revenues of 74.9 million PLN, indicating a stable local economy. Sports clubs related to football and other disciplines are active in the municipality, with Barlinek remaining the largest sports center, offering training in athletics, tennis, martial arts, and sailing. An interesting fact is that Barlinek gained rail connection as early as 1883, but it was closed in 1991.
