W skrócie

wikipedia
Bartodzieje is an urban unit in Bydgoszcz, located in its central part, on the so-called Lower Terrace. It borders the districts of Kapuściska, Bydgoszcz Wschód, Leśne, Bielawy, and Skrzetusko, with its boundaries marked by areas of varying elevations, ranging from 30 to 54 meters above sea level. Incorporated into Bydgoszcz in 1920, the district has transformed over the years from an agricultural village into a modern residential area. Extensive housing development contributed to a population increase from 10,000 in 1970 to 29,700 in 1990. Bartodzieje offers a variety of educational facilities, including numerous primary and secondary schools, as well as school complexes. Cultural sites, such as Roman Catholic parishes, and recreational areas like the Balaton reservoir—a popular leisure spot—are particularly noteworthy. The district also boasts numerous sports facilities, including a swimming pool and an Orlik sports complex, as well as an extensive network of bicycle paths. Nature monuments, such as the common catalpa tree, and architecturally interesting buildings, including residential block complexes and modern high-rises under construction, can be found here. Bartodzieje is a place where nature meets urbanization, offering residents convenient access to green spaces and well-developed road and public transportation networks, ensuring excellent connectivity with the rest of Bydgoszcz. An interesting fact is that Bartodzieje is one of the few areas in the region where 1970s gallery-style residential buildings have been preserved. Additionally, a planned boulevard along the Brda River is set to become a new recreational space.
