Bełchatów

Bełchatów, a county town in the Łódź Voivodeship, is situated on the Bełchatów Plateau, on the Rakówka River. The history of the city dates back to the 16th century when it was part of the Piotrków County. Bełchatów was granted town rights in 1737, and after a period of losing its status, it regained its town rights in 1925.
