Będków is a rural municipality located in the Łódź Voivodeship, within the Tomaszów Mazowiecki County, with its administrative seat in the village of Będków. The history of the municipality dates back to 1868, when it was established in the Brzeziny County of the Piotrków Governorate. From 1975 to 1998, Będków belonged to the Piotrków Voivodeship. At the beginning of the 21st century, on June 30, 2004, the municipality was inhabited by 3,561 people. Będków is renowned for its agriculture, with a focus on dairy and beef cattle farming. Its areas are also conducive to recreational settlement. The municipality is home to the Reymont Linden in Prażki, considered one of the thickest single-trunk trees in the Łódź Voivodeship and one of the most magnificent small-leaved linden trees in Poland. The municipality covers an area of 57.88 km², of which 85% is agricultural land and 7% is forested, meaning it occupies 5.64% of the area of Tomaszów Mazowiecki County. The municipality comprises many villages, including Będków, Brzóstów, Ceniawy, Prażki, and many others. Despite its agricultural character, the municipality also boasts a rich cultural heritage, with a history dating back to the 19th century. Points of interest include not only natural attractions related to farming and local wildlife but also local traditions and community life, which preserve local customs and rituals. The municipality borders other municipalities, including Brójce, Czarnocin, Moszczenica, Rokiciny, Ujazd, and Wolbórz, fostering cultural exchange and local cooperation.
