Bezrzecze

Bezrzecze, known until 1945 as Brunn, is a settlement in the West Pomeranian Voivodeship, within Police County, in the municipality of Dobra (Szczecińska). It currently has over 5,200 inhabitants. The settlement, bordering the western neighborhoods of Szczecin, is situated on moraine hills, and the Bukowa Stream flows through its area, bearing witness to early settlement dating back to the Neolithic period. The development of Bezrzecze consists mainly of modern single-family homes, and public transportation is provided by bus lines. The first mention of the locality dates back to 1260, and its historical significance is confirmed by subsequent documents from the 13th century. In the 15th century, the village gained a church, and at the turn of the 19th and 20th centuries, construction began on single-family houses closer to Szczecin, initiating the development of a suburban settlement. After World War II, which did not cause direct destruction, the area came under Polish administration, and the settlement became home to farming families and workers from Szczecin. Among the monuments of Bezrzecze, the 15th-century church, rebuilt in the 19th century, and the palace park stand out. Architectural testimonies to the village's history, such as the former palace in the English Neo-Gothic style, no longer exist but bear witness to the rich past of this place. Interestingly, the region gained popularity among the residents of Szczecin due to its proximity to the city, and housing in Bezrzecze is dynamically growing. In recent years, the number of inhabitants has increased, reflecting urbanization and the development of the suburban area. The introduction of Polish administration after 1945 brought changes in the social and economic structure, gradually becoming an important element of local culture and identity. Bezrzecze, combining history with modernity, is now an important place for the residents of the region and visitors.
