Biskupiec is an urban-rural municipality located in the Warmian-Masurian Voivodeship, within the Olsztyn County, with its administrative seat in the town of Biskupiec. This municipality boasts a rich history, having been part of the Olsztyn Voivodeship between 1975 and 1998. In 2011, the municipality had a population of 19,309, with the majority residing in the town itself. According to 2019 data, the population decreased to 18,997. Covering an area of 290.38 km², Biskupiec Municipality is characterized by diverse landscapes: 56% of its territory is agricultural land, while 25% is covered by forests. It constitutes 10.22% of the total area of Olsztyn County. The municipality includes numerous villages and settlements, such as Biesowo, Bredynki, and Labuszewo, each contributing to the area's cultural and geographical diversity.
