wikipedia
Borowa Palace, located in Borowa Oleśnicka, is a historic building erected in the 16th century in the Renaissance style. In the 18th century, it underwent a Baroque reconstruction, and in the 19th century, it was modernized in a classicist-modernist style. Until 1945, the palace was in the hands of the von Schwerin family, and after the war, it served various functions, including military and educational purposes, until 2005, when it was sold by the Długołęka Municipality. In 2007, the Jabłonowski family began its thorough renovation, which was completed in 2009, transforming the palace into a hotel and conference center. Architecturally, the building is distinguished by its projections along the north-south axis, with the southern projection featuring the Schwerin family coat of arms and stucco decorations. The dominant feature is a 40-meter tower with a clock and a bell, while the palace interior is adorned with a grand hall and rooms with fireplaces, including a distinctive fireplace in the Ballroom. The palace also once housed a library, and its catalogs can be found in the National Museum in Warsaw. The park surrounding the palace awaits further restoration. An interesting aspect is the history of the Grundmann hideout, where valuable collections were transported in 1943, only to be scattered after the war. The current owner of the palace has managed to recover some of the lost artifacts, which are now generally exhibited in the building in the context of the Borowa treasure history.
