The Municipality of Borzęcin is a rural commune located in the Lesser Poland Voivodeship, within the Brzesko County. The administrative seat of the municipality is the town of Borzęcin, which is divided into two parts: Upper Borzęcin (Borzęcin Górny) and Lower Borzęcin (Borzęcin Dolny). In 2017, the commune was inhabited by 8,378 people, and at the end of 2008, it featured a diverse demographic age pyramid. The municipality covers an area of 102.73 km², of which 68% is agricultural land and 23% is forested, making it a predominantly agricultural region. Between 1975 and 1998, Borzęcin was part of the Tarnów Voivodeship. Its neighboring municipalities include Brzesko, Dębno, Radłów, Szczurowa, Wierzchosławice, and Wojnicz.
