Konary (powiat grójecki)

W skrócie

wikipedia
Konary is a village in Poland, located in the Masovian Voivodeship, known for its rich history dating back to the Neolithic era. In the Middle Ages, the village served the ducal stronghold in Czersk and later became an episcopal village under the administration of the Archbishops of Gniezno. By the 16th century, Konary was already recognized as a fruit-growing center, cultivating pears and apples, which further developed during the interwar period. The village's architecture includes a new church built in the Neo-Romanesque style in 1957, consecrated by Cardinal Wyszyński, and a cemetery with 18th-century chapels. Konary is home to a complex of historical monuments, including the old rectory and a former mill. The Holy Trinity Parish, the main religious center, has existed since the times of the Poznań bishopric. An interesting fact is that for nearly 600 years, Konary formed a joint economic entity with neighboring villages, and in the 19th century, it was incorporated into the Konary municipality. In the 20th century, after the destruction of World War II, the village slowly rebuilt, with residents engaging in cultural life by establishing institutions such as the Volunteer Fire Department and a school. Today, the village plays an important role in local fruit cultivation, and its residents maintain the tradition of fruit growing, reflected in various local businesses, including a fruit juice press and gardening stores.
