Brusek, also known as Brunek, is a peak with an elevation of 1,115.9 meters above sea level, situated on the Polish-Czech border in the southeastern part of the Bialskie Mountains in the Eastern Sudetes. Its surroundings are wild areas with rare species of flora and fauna, which suffered from an ecological disaster at the end of the 20th century. The peak is classified among the highest summits of the Bialskie Mountains and the Golden Mountains, located within the Śnieżnik Landscape Park. The summit of Brusek is covered with a layer of quartzite, and traces of historical mining of this mineral can be found in the area. The continental water divide runs through the peak, and nearby lies the tripoint of the historical borders of Silesia, Moravia, and the Kłodzko Land. The mountain has a distinctive flat shape with sloping sides, and its varied topography contributes to a little-known yet fascinating mountain landscape. The area, covered with lower and upper montane forests, corresponds to pristine lower and upper forest ecosystems, with an admixture of rowan trees and natural vegetation, making it an important site for nature conservation. Although the summit is unmarked and has no signposted hiking trails leading to it, nearby Czech trails allow access to its vicinity. From Brusek, a limited panorama of the neighboring mountain ranges unfolds, which may appeal to tourists seeking the charms of wild nature. For history enthusiasts, the geographical and cultural context of the location is of particular interest, especially from the perspective of historical borders and ethnographic regions, making Brusek an equally valuable point on the map of tourist pilgrimages in the region.
