wikipedia
Budzyń is an urban-rural municipality located in the Greater Poland Voivodeship, within the Chodzież County. It was established in 1973 through the merger of the village districts (gromadas) of Budzyń and Wyszyny. In 2021, it was granted town rights, which changed its status from rural to urban-rural. The municipality covers an area of 207.61 km², of which 59% is agricultural land and 36% is forested. It forms a significant part of Chodzież County, accounting for 30.5% of its total area. The seat of the municipality is the town of Budzyń, which in 2021 adopted new symbols established by the Town Council. In 2008, the population of the municipality was 8,468, and in 2014, demographic data illustrating the age pyramid of its inhabitants were introduced. The municipality includes numerous village administrative units (sołectwas), such as Brzekiniec, Bukowiec, Nowe Brzeźno, and Wyszyny, as well as settlements without such status, like Niewiemko and Popielno. Budzyń borders the municipalities of Chodzież, Czarnków, Margonin, Rogoźno, Ryczywół, and Wągrowiec. The area boasts rich architectural, cultural, and historical values, which are significant for both the local community and tourism. It is worth noting that administrative changes, such as the granting of town rights, are important both for infrastructure development and for the identity of the residents.
