The Railway Tradition Chamber in Bydgoszcz, managed by the Bydgoszcz Association of Railway Friends and the Association of Railway Enthusiasts in Bydgoszcz, is located in a reconstructed railway station building from 1851, highlighting the architectural and historical value of the site. The museum continues the legacy of the Bydgoszcz Railways Tradition Chamber and the Bydgoszcz Railway Junction Museum Center, established in 1979, showcasing the long-standing passion of Bydgoszcz railway workers for preserving railway heritage. The exhibition focuses on the period from 1945 to 1989, featuring diverse exhibits such as technical equipment, uniforms, railway accessories, and an extensive collection of literature. The museum organizes numerous events, including Railway Workers' Day, European Museum Night, and tourist gatherings, underscoring its role in the cultural life of the region and its engagement with the local community. After periods of inactivity and relocations, the museum was reopened in its original location in 2019. However, in 2022, the exhibits were removed by the Association of Railway Enthusiasts, which plans to reopen the museum in a new venue. Interestingly, the museum collects memorabilia not only from former Polish railways but also from neighboring countries, enriching its offerings and presenting railway history from a broader perspective. The Chamber plays a vital role in documenting the history of railways in Bydgoszcz and the region, allowing visitors to gain a deeper understanding of the development of railway transport and its impact on the life of the local community.
