Bytów

Gmina Bytów is an urban-rural municipality located in the Pomeranian Voivodeship, within Bytów County, with its administrative seat in the town of Bytów. It comprises 15 villages, including Dąbie, Gostkowo, Mądrzechowo, and Rzepnica. The municipality features a diverse land structure, with agricultural land covering 48% of the area and forest land accounting for 39%. According to 2020 data, the population of the municipality is 25,388. Key transportation routes include national and regional roads, as well as a railway line that, until 2007, also served passenger traffic. The area is rich in natural attractions, such as the Słupia Valley Landscape Park and numerous nature reserves, including Bukowa Góra and Jezioro Głęboczko. Historically, the region was connected to pre-war railway lines, which were destroyed during World War II. An interesting fact is that the Lipusz–Bytów railway section became municipal property after its takeover. Gmina Bytów is also known for its local culture, traditions, and community, making it an interesting place both to live in and to visit.
