wikipedia
Cardinal Stefan Wyszyński Street in Tarnowskie Góry is one of the city's main thoroughfares, connecting the city center with the district of Stare Tarnowice. It forms part of the district road No. 3275S. The street has a rich history dating back to the 16th century, when it served as a route leading to the village of Tarnowice. Over the years, it has undergone several name changes, including Starotarnowicka Street and Michał Grażyński Street, until it adopted its current name in 1990 in honor of Cardinal Wyszyński. During the 19th century, the street gained transportation significance, and by the early 20th century, residential buildings for miners had developed around it. It is worth noting that on the southern side of Wyszyński Street lies the Municipal Park, established in 1903, which is an example of the revitalization of post-industrial areas and is now listed in the register of monuments and a UNESCO World Heritage Site. Another valuable historical site is the medieval motte-and-bailey castle located near the church in Stare Tarnowice. Architecturally, the modernist development of "wilgotne domy" (damp houses) from 1924–1939 is of interest and is listed in the Municipal Register of Monuments. In terms of transportation, the street is well-connected, with numerous bus services. There are 625 people registered as residents on Wyszyński Street, reflecting its dynamism and appeal as a residential area.
