The Center for Education and Regional Promotion in Szymbark, founded by Lidia Czapiewska, is a unique place that combines the architecture, culture, and history of Kashubia. Located near National Road No. 20, the Center features replicas of traditional Kashubian buildings, including a nobleman's manor, a wooden church, and the House of Kashubians from Canada. Among the permanent exhibitions is a bread oven where traditional Kashubian bread is baked, as well as a display of everyday household items from the region, highlighting the cultural richness of Kashubia.
The exhibitions also cover Siberia, featuring historical artifacts and models related to Polish exiles, such as the Sybirak's House and a model of the "Borowicze" labor camp. Additionally, the Center includes a replica of a bunker used by the Secret Military Organization Gryf Pomorski, whose history is tied to resistance during World War II.
Among the attractions is the Museum of Carpentry, known for the world's longest board and the Lech Wałęsa Nobel Prize Winner's Table, made from a single tree and weighing 6 tons. Another interesting feature is a concert grand piano, which also holds a Guinness World Record. The Center operates the "Kaszubska Korona" brewery, where visitors can observe the beer production process based on traditional recipes.
Events such as the World Congress of Sybiraks and annual gatherings of Santas, which have drawn thousands of participants, underscore the cultural significance of this place. The "Amber Tree" award, given to artists and patrons of culture, reinforces Szymbark's reputation as a cultural and historical center. The Center for Education and Regional Promotion in Szymbark combines architectural merits with rich history, tradition, and unique experiences for its visitors.
