The Chapel of Our Lady of the Rosary is a historic monument located in Buków, within the Lubomia commune, in the Silesian Voivodeship. Situated at Kaczy Rynek, near Główna, Odrzańska, and Strażacka streets, it is part of the Wooden Architecture Trail of the Silesian Voivodeship and lies close to the yellow cycling route no. 316. Built in 1770, the chapel showcases the style of wooden sacral architecture, featuring a characteristic log structure and a high stone foundation. Its orientation and rectangular form, terminating in a three-sided apse on the eastern side, distinguish it from other buildings. The chapel’s shingle-covered roof has a gable design, transitioning into a multi-slope shape above the eastern section. At the ridge of the roof, there is a hexagonal bell tower topped with a lantern and an onion-shaped dome. The interior is a single space, covered with a flat ceiling, which adds to its simplicity and harmony. The history of the chapel is complex; partially damaged during the flood of 1997, it underwent conservation work that restored its former splendor. It is not only a place of worship but also a symbol of local history and tradition. The Chapel of Our Lady of the Rosary is an important element of the region’s cultural heritage, attracting tourists and enthusiasts of wooden architecture. Its presence on the architectural trail underscores the significance of this site, both for residents and visitors.
