The Choczewo Commune is a rural administrative unit located in the Pomeranian Voivodeship, within Wejherowo County. Its seat is the village of Choczewo, which had a population of 5,495 in 2019. Covering an area of 183.23 km², the commune is characterized by a predominance of agricultural land (49%) and forests (42%). Choczewo boasts rich natural resources, including numerous nature reserves such as Borkowskie Wąwozy, Choczewskie Cisy, and Mierzeja Sarbska, which contribute to its tourist appeal. The region is also home to the Stilo Lighthouse, an important element of maritime architecture, and the Palace in Sasino, which reflects the area's historical heritage. Plans are underway to build Poland's first nuclear power plant in the vicinity of Lubiatowo, Kierzkowo, and Kopalin, a significant development for the local community and regional growth. The commune borders the Baltic Sea, further enhancing its touristic significance. It is also worth noting that until 1998, the commune was administratively part of the Gdańsk Voivodeship, reflecting its historical context.
