The municipality of Chodów, located in the Greater Poland Voivodeship within Koło County, is the easternmost municipality of this voivodeship. The seat of the municipality is the settlement of Chodów. The municipality, which belonged to the Konin Voivodeship from 1975 to 1998, had a population of 3,510 as of June 30, 2005. Across an area of 77.97 km², 89% of which is agricultural land and 6% forests, cultivated fields dominate, with forests covering only a few percent of the area. The landscape of the municipality also features interesting natural monuments, including an approximately 500-year-old oak tree in Chodów and glacial erratics in Dzierzbice. The municipality is well-connected, intersected by national road No. 92, linking Poznań and Warsaw, and the Warsaw West – Poznań Main railway line, with a stop in Turzynów. In terms of religion, there are two Roman Catholic parish churches within the municipality, which are part of the Łowicz Diocese, as well as a Mariavite parish. In Nowy Rdutów, there is a congregation of the Lay Missionary Movement "Epiphany". Historical changes in the municipality's name, from Rdutów to Chodów, as well as administrative changes related to voivodeships, reflect the dynamic past of the region. The cultural values of the municipality are enriched by local traditions. An interesting fact is that the municipality is surrounded by other municipalities, such as Daszyna and Kłodawa, making Chodów an interesting starting point for further exploration of Greater Poland.
