Chorzele is an urban-rural commune in the Masovian Voivodeship, located in the Przasnysz County. The seat of the commune, the town of Chorzele, has a rich history, and its administrative development between 1975 and 1998 was associated with the Ostrołęka Voivodeship. According to demographic data, in 2004 the commune had a population of 10,231, but this number gradually decreased, reaching 10,175 in 2019. The commune covers an area of 371.53 km², dominated by agricultural land (53%) and forests (42%), which reflects the agricultural character of the region. The commune's structure includes numerous village administrative units, such as Bagienice, Krzywowo, Nowa Wieś, and Pruskołęka, as well as settlements without such status. The region is rich in architectural monuments, including traditional rural cottages and churches, which bear witness to local traditions and culture. In Chorzele and its surroundings, one can observe the influences of various cultures, which is linked to the history of this area, which has been a place of trade and migration for centuries.
