wikipedia
The Church of the Most Holy Sacrament in Łowicz is a Mariavite church, serving as the seat of the Parish of the Most Holy Sacrament within the Silesian-Łódź Diocese of the Old Catholic Mariavite Church in Poland. Located on Henryk Sienkiewicz Avenue, the church was built in 1910 in the Neo-Gothic style, based on the plan of a Latin cross. The structure, erected from ceramic brick in a Flemish bond, features a gable roof covered with roof tiles and a five-sided vestibule with pointed-arch arcading. The church facade is adorned with a tall tower and pairs of pinnacles, giving it a Neo-Gothic character. The interior of the church is simple yet majestic; the main nave, significantly higher than the side aisles, is supported by eight columns and has a groin vaulted ceiling. The main furnishings include a modest altar with a statue of the Crucified Christ, an icon of Our Lady of Perpetual Help, and a metal pulpit from 1910. The altar antependium features the coat of arms of Łowicz, and above the altar hangs a gilded confessio. The church is also the site of important ceremonies, including the episcopal consecration of two priests on September 4, 1910, presided over by Bishop Jan Maria Michał Kowalski. The church was entered into the register of historical monuments on April 15, 2002. Interestingly, services are held regularly three times a month, highlighting that despite its modesty, the building continues to play an active role in the religious life of the local community.
