Cyców is a rural municipality in the Lublin Voivodeship, within the Łęczna County, with its administrative seat located in the village of Cyców. Between 1975 and 1998, the municipality was part of the Chełm Voivodeship. In 2004, the municipality had a population of 7,496. It covers an area of 147.87 km², of which 80% is agricultural land and 8% is forested. Within the municipality lies the Jezioro Świerszczów Nature Reserve, which protects a unique eutrophic lake and the biodiversity of rare relict plants in the adjacent peat bog. Among the administrative villages (sołectwa) in the municipality are Adamów, Garbatówka, Stary Stręczyn, and Wólka Cycowska. The municipality borders Ludwin, Puchaczów, Siedliszcze, Urszulin, and Wierzbica. Cyców is a place rich in history, reflected in its local architecture and culture. An interesting feature is the nature reserve, which not only plays a vital role in environmental conservation but also attracts nature enthusiasts and tourists.
