Czerwin is a rural municipality located in the Masovian Voivodeship, within Ostrołęka County, with its administrative seat in the village of Czerwin. From 1975 to 1998, the municipality was part of the Ostrołęka Voivodeship. Currently, the municipality is headed by Mayor Grzegorz Długokęcki. According to demographic data as of December 31, 2017, the municipality had a population of 5,136, accounting for 5.8% of the population of Ostrołęka County. The municipality covers an area of 171.13 km², of which 77% is agricultural land and 15% is forested. In 2002, Czerwin occupied 8.15% of the total area of the county. Due to its rich cultural heritage, Czerwin attracts the attention of historians. Records from 1921 show that the municipality was then inhabited by 7,194 people, predominantly Roman Catholic, with Jewish and Orthodox minorities. An interesting aspect is the architectural landscape of the municipality, which is diverse, featuring both traditional rural buildings and everyday-use structures. The municipality consists of numerous village districts, including Andrzejki-Tyszki, Bobin, Borek, Czerwin, Gocły, Malinowo, and many others. Each village has its unique characteristics and traditions, contributing to the multicultural character of the region. It is worth mentioning the beautiful natural surroundings, which foster recreational development and allow for the exploration of local natural assets. The municipality of Czerwin neighbors municipalities such as Goworowo, Ostrów Mazowiecka, Rzekuń, and others, creating opportunities for cooperation and cultural exchange. Despite its small population, Czerwin has much to offer both residents and visitors, making it an interesting point on the map of Masovia.
