The municipality of Dąbrówka, formerly known as the municipality of Małopole until 1948, is located in the Masovian Voivodeship, in the Wołomin County, with its seat in Dąbrówka. It is an area of agricultural character, with well-developed individual recreation, including recreational plots. The municipality, situated 35 km from Warsaw, covers an area of 109.05 km², of which 71% is agricultural land and 20% is forested. The Bug River flows through its territory, and the national road no. 8 and the European route E67, known as Via Baltica, run through it. The municipality is a member of the Association of Rural Municipalities of the Republic of Poland and the Association of Municipalities of the Zegrze Reservoir. Demographically, in 2019, the municipality was inhabited by 8,150 people, which is an increase compared to previous years, when in 2004 the population was 6,843 and in 2011 it was 7,636. The history of Dąbrówka dates back to before the administrative reform in 1998, when the municipality was part of the Ostrołęka Voivodeship. A notable event occurred on July 29, 2012, when a powerful windstorm passed through the municipality, causing significant material losses and infrastructure damage. The municipality is rich in village administrative units, including Lasków, Małopole, Karpin, and Trojany, which reflects the diversity and varied structure of the local community.
