Dębe Wielkie is a rural commune located in the Masovian Voivodeship, within the Mińsk County, with its administrative seat in the town of Dębe Wielkie. Historically, the commune had a different seat, as Pustelnik served this function until administrative reforms. Demographically, in 2013, the commune had a population of 9,259, and two years later, this number increased to 9,474. The commune covers an area of 77.88 km², of which 68.9% is agricultural land, 22.4% is forested, and 4.4% is water. Dębe Wielkie Commune occupies 6.69% of the area of Mińsk County. Administratively, the commune comprises several village districts (sołectwa), such as Aleksandrówka, Gorzanka, and Choszczówka, as well as the locality of Nowy Walercin, which does not have the status of a village district. From a historical perspective, the commune has undergone various administrative changes, including belonging to the Siedlce Voivodeship between 1975 and 1998. Dębe Wielkie Commune borders the communes of Halinów, Mińsk Mazowiecki, Stanisławów, and Wiązowna, as well as the town of Zielonka. Architecturally, the region is characterized by traditional rural buildings that reflect local customs and culture. Culturally, the commune boasts various social initiatives, local festivals, and events that bring the community together.
