A section of the hiking trail leads from Ojców through the Prądnik Valley, encompassing picturesque spots such as Deotyma’s Needle and various rock formations, including Słupek Rock and the Wawrzonowy Dół Gorge. Another tourist attraction is the Dark Cave (Jaskinia Ciemna) and the viewpoints on Koronna Mountain. Deotyma’s Needle, a rock outlier in the valley, stands out with its slender form made of Jurassic limestone, shaped by karst processes. Its name refers to the literary pseudonym of Jadwiga Łuszczewska, a renowned poet who visited Ojców in 1853 and drew inspiration from the surrounding landscapes for her works. Deotyma’s Needle rises on the eastern side of the Prądnik stream, surrounded by rare Ojców birches and Virginia creeper, which turns a vibrant red in autumn. Despite its appeal, the rock is not open for climbing, which helps preserve it in its untouched state. The entire trail captivates not only with its natural richness but also with the deep cultural and historical context of the region, making it a fascinating place to explore.
