wikipedia
Domaniewice is a village located in the Lesser Poland Voivodeship, within the municipality of Wolbrom, with a rich history dating back to 1388, when the first mention of the locality appeared. The village was associated with Bydlin and over the centuries changed owners, including Pełka of Bydlin and Mikołaj Bydliński. Domaniewice was a knight's village, and throughout the centuries its inhabitants were engaged in agriculture as well as economic activities, including limestone mining. In the 19th century, a stone quarry operated in the area, and the village had between 163 and 327 inhabitants by the end of that century. Domaniewice also offers interesting natural attractions, including the eternal spring in the Black Forest (Czarny Las), which is the most important natural outflow of groundwater in the Kraków-Częstochowa Upland region. The local spring has a stable temperature and specialized relict flora, highlighting the uniqueness of this area. The water from this site is characterized by high purity, which favors an abundance of cold-loving aquatic organisms. The history related to the village's name is also intriguing; it originated from a legend about buildings invisible to a passing military commander, which is said to have given rise to the name "Domaniewice." The oldest records of the village's name evolved over the centuries, and the modern form stabilized in the 20th century. Thus, the village has a rich and interesting history, enhanced by natural values, making it an intriguing place on the map of Lesser Poland.
