The municipality of Drwinia, located in the Lesser Poland Voivodeship within Bochnia County, covers an area of 108.81 km², of which 46% is agricultural land and 44% is forested. The municipality plays a significant role in the region, constituting 17.23% of the county's total area. Historically, from 1975 to 1998, it was part of the Kraków Voivodeship. According to data from 2004, the population of the municipality was 6,282. Drwinia is characterized by a rich architectural heritage, including numerous sites listed in the register of historical monuments. Particularly noteworthy are the manor complex in Bieńkowice and the churches in Mikluszowice and Grobla, each with its own unique history. The church in Mikluszowice, dating from 1859–1864, is the fourth religious building in the town, with the first mention dating back to 1440, as previous structures were destroyed in fires. Also of interest are the chapel in Drwinia and the war cemetery No. 322 in Grobla, highlighting the importance of the municipality's historical context. Drwinia is divided into village districts such as Bieńkowice, Dziewin, Grobla, and others, and also includes the locality of Olszyny, which does not have the status of a village district. The municipality borders several other municipalities, contributing to the cultural diversity of the region.
