Dwikozy is a rural commune in Poland, located in the Świętokrzyskie Voivodeship, within Sandomierz County, with its administrative seat in a village of the same name. The commune lies in the Vistula River valley, at the junction of the Sandomierz Basin and the Kielce Upland, primarily on the Sandomierz Upland, with its terrain ranging from 150 to 210 meters above sea level. According to 2010 data, the commune was home to 8,973 inhabitants. Notable architectural features include a historic chapel from 1884, a railway station dating back to 1915, and the parish church in Góry Wysokie, built in 1792. The commune holds significant cultural and historical value, featuring a monument to the insurgents who fell in the battle against the Russians in 1863, as well as the ruins of a noble manor and a tower of the Benedictine convent. Interestingly, the nearby village of Garbów was the birthplace of the famous knight Zawisza Czarny, associated with the Battle of Grunwald. The area also includes a picturesque forest where 92 prisoners from Sandomierz Castle, murdered by the Nazis in 1940, are buried. In terms of land use, agricultural areas dominate, covering 83% of the commune's total area of 84.79 km². The commune also has a diverse budget, with an average per capita income of 6,787.55 PLN in 2010. Among its villages are Dwikozy, Góry Wysokie, Słupcza, and Nowe Kichary.
