wikipedia
Dylewo is a village located in the Masovian Voivodeship, in the municipality of Kadzidło, Ostrołęka County, near national road No. 53. It consists of two village administrative districts (sołectwa): Dylewo Stare and Dylewo Nowe, which were once separate settlements. The history of Dylewo dates back to at least 1393, when the Masovian Duke Janusz I granted this land to knights. In the 17th century, the village gained importance due to the settlement of the nobility, which contributed to the development of local culture, including the original Kurpie costume. Dylewo was a municipality until 1931, and in 1824 it had 89 houses and 504 inhabitants. In the 19th century, mass emigration occurred, primarily to North America, driven by economic crises. Dylewo featured an inn and a railway station, which operated until 1973. During the interwar period, residents were involved in national and peasant movements. An elementary school was established here, and in 2002 it was named after John Paul II. The local Volunteer Fire Department is active in Dylewo, and its modernized firehouse now hosts a library branch and a gym. The parish of Our Lady of the Gate of Dawn, established in 2005, is another element of the local social structure. Dylewo has gained prominence as a center of Kurpie culture and tradition, as evidenced by the preservation of local customs and heritage.
