The Dywity Commune, located in the Warmian-Masurian Voivodeship within the Olsztyn County, is an area of significant natural and demographic importance. The commune's seat is in the village of Dywity, which had a population of 12,004 in 2019. Situated in the Olsztyn Lake District, the commune encompasses lakes such as Mosąg, Bukwałdzkie, and Dywity, as well as the Łyna and Wadąg rivers. The commune covers an area of 160.68 km², of which 60% is agricultural land and 25% is forested. Dywity makes up 5.66% of the total area of Olsztyn County. The commune is rich in natural resources and is part of the Protected Landscape Area of the Middle Łyna Valley and the NATURA 2000 Warmian Beech Forests site. It is home to several natural monuments, highlighting the care taken to preserve local flora and fauna. The commune consists of numerous village administrative units, such as Barkweda, Bukwałd, and Dąbrówka Wielka, among others.
