Dzierzgoń is an urban-rural municipality located in the Pomeranian Voivodeship, within the Sztum County. Between 1975 and 1998, it belonged to the Elbląg Voivodeship. The municipality consists of 12 village districts, including Ankamaty, Bągart, Bruk, Budzisz, Jasna, Minięta, Morany, Nowiec, Poliksy, Prakwice, Tywęzy, and Żuławka Sztumska. The seat of the municipality, Dzierzgoń, serves as its main administrative center.
The total area of the municipality is 131 km², of which 86% is agricultural land and only 2% is forested, highlighting the area's strong focus on farming. Dzierzgoń Municipality accounts for 17.9% of the total area of Sztum County.
Demographically, in 2017, Dzierzgoń was home to a community whose age structure had been analyzed in 2014.
