The Elbląg-Śródmieście Deanery is one of the 20 Roman Catholic deaneries in the Diocese of Elbląg. It consists of six parishes located in Elbląg and its surrounding areas, including the Parish of Our Lady Queen of Poland, the Parish of St. Bruno of Querfurt, the Parish of St. Nicholas, the Parish of the Holy Trinity, the Parish of All Saints, and the Parish of Our Lady of Perpetual Help in Jegłownik. It is worth noting that historically, the Deanery also included the Parish of the Assumption of the Blessed Virgin Mary in Cieplice. Architecturally, Elbląg boasts a rich heritage, including historic churches that reflect a diversity of architectural styles, from Gothic to Baroque. For example, St. Nicholas' Church is one of the oldest monuments in the city, with beautiful interiors and valuable pieces of sacred art. Culturally, the deanery plays a significant role in the life of local communities, organizing numerous religious and cultural events that bring residents together. The histories associated with individual parishes reveal the region's rich religious traditions, as well as fascinating legends that accompany many of these sites. Interestingly, Elbląg is one of the few cities in Poland that hosts unique events such as processions and festivals, which attract both residents and tourists. The deanery also works closely with neighboring deaneries: Elbląg Południe, Elbląg Północ, Malbork I, Nowy Dwór Gdański, and Nowy Staw. All of this makes the Elbląg-Śródmieście Deanery a place with a rich history and vibrant culture that deserves attention.
