The Ethnographic Park in Ślemień, located on over 6 hectares of land along the road to Kocoń, was established with the support of the European Union as part of the "Ethnographic Park of the Żywiec Land" project. The park opened in August 2012, and in January 2013, the Żywiec Ethnographic Park was officially established to manage the site. The park recreates the traditional urban layout of a village in the Żywiec Beskids, featuring 17 relocated historic buildings, mostly made of wood. Among the attractions are a school building from Rychwałd dating back to 1900, a 19th-century granary from Sucha Beskidzka, a typical peasant homestead from 1895, a blacksmith's forge from the early 20th century, a wealthy peasant's cottage from Łękawica, and huts from various villages, including Kuków and Korbielów. Particularly noteworthy are the intricate woodcarving details of a cottage from Świnna, which reflect the Alpine-Tyrolean style, as well as an early 20th-century small-town pharmacy. The park also features two small cellars and three wells with different water-drawing methods. Additionally, roadside crosses and shrines enrich the landscape. The interiors of the buildings have been meticulously reconstructed, allowing visitors to gain a deeper understanding of the highlanders' way of life, traditions, and culture. The park not only preserves the architectural heritage of the region but also plays a vital role in cultural and historical education, serving as a living lesson for future generations.
