The Fisherman's Cottage in Jastarnia, located at 10 Rynek Street, is a museum run by the Kashubian-Pomeranian Association. The building, dating back to 1881, is listed in the register of historical monuments. Architecturally, the cottage features a rectangular layout measuring 7.3 by 12.0 meters and was constructed using wood washed ashore from shipwrecks. The museum’s interior has been reconstructed in the style of a traditional fishing homestead, restoring original room divisions such as the kitchen, living room, small barn, and storage chamber. The museum exhibition features fishing equipment and tools from the 15th to the 19th centuries, as well as various period interiors, including a kitchen with a tiled stove, a bedroom adorned with images of saints, and a children’s room with retro toys. The Fisherman’s Cottage has been an important cultural and tourist attraction since 1992, when it officially opened after a renovation that began in 1983. An interesting fact is that one of the museum’s guides was the Kashubian poet and storyteller Marian Selin, who held this role until his death in 2016. The last owners of the building were Marianna and Józef Kohnke, well-known figures in the region. Memories of Józef, nicknamed "Tuba," contributed to his local legacy. Open during the summer season, the museum attracts both history enthusiasts and tourists eager to explore Kashubian culture.
