Gmina Gielniów, located in the Masovian Voivodeship within the Przysucha County, is an urban-rural municipality with its seat in the town of Gielniów. Until 1954, the municipality was known as Goździków. Between 1975 and 1998, it was part of the Radom Voivodeship. The municipality covers an area of approximately 79.17 km², of which 53% is agricultural land and 41% is forested, highlighting its rural and forested character. In 2004, the population was 4,873, which decreased to 4,542 by 2019. The municipality consists of several villages, including Antoniów, Bieliny, Brzezinki, Drynia, Gałki, Gielniów, Goździków, Huta, Jastrząb, Kotfin, Mechlin, Marysin, Rozwady, Snarki, Sołtysy, Stoczki, Wywóz, Zielonka, and Zygmuntów. It is worth noting that Gielniów is bordered by the municipalities of Drzewica, Gowarczów, Opoczno, Przysucha, and Rusinów. Thanks to its location and rich natural surroundings, the municipality may attract tourists seeking both tranquility and a connection with nature.
